Celebrating the exceptional work of our health and safety representatives across the public sector.
PSA members were among the standout achievers at the Health and Safety Representative of the Year Awards.
In May the Government Health and Safety Lead hosted the annual award ceremony that acknowledges the work of public sector health and safety representatives.
Winner and PSA member Natalie Price from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade was recognised by the judges for her exceptional contributions to health and safety at MFAT.
Along with the prestige of being the overall winner for the year, the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management have offered Natalie a one-year membership, which will help increase her knowledge and access to other health and safety professionals across the industry.
ENSURING SAFETY ABROAD
Natalie has been a health and safety rep for two years, supporting workers spread across 27 overseas embassies in the Americas and Asia.
As chair of the Wellington MFAT health and safety committee, Natalie has made sure her fellow health and safety reps are well trained and resourced and are confident about advocating for health and safety at work.
As a result of her efforts, she has helped to create a culture in which health and safety representatives are truly the voice of working people.
Congratulations to all the finalists
