In August 2024 the PSA made a submission on the Government’s second Emissions Reduction Plan. The PSA’s submission was led by the Eco Network, and with input from Eco Network convenors and a member workshop.
Our submission urged the Government to be more ambitious on emission reduction, with more tangible initiatives to reduce gross emissions and less reliance on forestry offsets and market mechanisms. Our submission also urged the Government to invest in the capacity of the public service to respond to climate change through resourcing climate policy and science, and investing in infrastructure.
