This pay equity claim is in the: Settling Phase.

This claim is currently under discussion to clarify any cross over with our claim for Social Services Social Workers.

In 2019 the PSA lodged two separate pay equity claims against five social service providers, Barnados, Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP, Christchurch Methodist Mission, Stand for Children and Ngāpuhi Iwi.

Social Service Providers Aotearoa (SSPA) is coordinating the response for the five employers in the claims and a complex review and bargaining process is progressing. Both the PSA and the claim employers have agreed that a whole-of-sector solution is required, for everyone in social work roles in the community social services sector.
