The Crown Minerals Amendment Bill was introduced in September 2024. The proposed Bill would overturn the ban on oil and gas exploration that had been put in place by the previous government, in addition to making other changes to the Crown Minerals Act 1991.
The Eco Network made a submission on the proposed Bill. The submission strongly opposed the Bill and the reversal of the oil and gas exploration ban.
